Sentence Structure

Word Order

Matoyo uses Subject-Verb-Object order like many Western languages. For example, in English, we say "I eat bread." "I" is the subject, "eat" is the verb, and "bread" is the object. In Matoyo, we would say, "Mi meca bann." "Mi" is the subject ("I"), "meca" is a verb meaning "to eat," and "bann" is the object ("bread").
